I enjoyed this place! The decor was super cool, it's designed to look like a cruise ship both inside & out. Really unique concept, I've never seen anything executed like that. The food was good, especially the crab chowder and the chocolate mousse cake! My only issue was with the service - it was sub par. I took a star off due to this. It wasn't bad, but for how much you pay for the meal, I expect a much higher quality of service.

Apart from the excellent view of SF Bay this place does not really impressed me the food was OK the bread for the table was Rock hard and cold there's barely any crab meat in the chowder bowl which so far different from the advertisement in the menu our kids chicken was way overcooked also steamed veggies that tasted like straight out of bag microwave the hi-light was the server screwed up the transaction she charged us more than twice of our bill. Fun place to go but do not expect anything superb for the price you pay.

Simply amazing - truly outstanding seafood and fantastic service. Busting at the seams with customers yet they didnt miss a beat. A must do restaurant when in SF. The crab enchiladas are special, and I recommend the skillets - go for a combo!

I really enjoyed this place and would definitely go back. We had shrimp cocktail and crab dip appetizers that were both fantastic. I chose an entree in which you chose your fish and how it was cooked that came with vegetables and local claim to fame acini de pepe and it was delicious. The restaurant itself offers somewhat of an Old Hollywood vibe that is unique and interesting. One of the best parts of the meal was the gorgeous view of the bay at sunset. Definitely request a table with a view.

Great view. Love the old black and white photos of the stars and the menu/cookbook is amazing. The crab alfredo, perfect.

Step back in time with this gem on the water. Enjoy the old photos from the Golden Age of Hollywood & the views with classic cocktails. For the retro at heart

A bit on the high price but for the taste ita worth it. You can sit and eat with an ocean view. Drinks were great, plus you can use the binoculars by the window to look out into the Alcatraz Prison or the ocean view.

Really nice restaurant with a 50's feel. Good views of the bay including Alcatraz. Service is very professional. I had the Prix Fixe menu, clam chowder (in a bowl), crab legs in garlic and small batch vanilla ice cream - all good. It is smack bang in tourist central, but I think this is a safe bet in the Fisherman's Wharf area

Family friendly restaurant in a busy tourist area. Views of the bay, nearby boats, and Alcatraz are available to pretty much all tables due to how they are arranged. On the weekend it's worth reserving a table in advance, but during the week it is quiet enough to walk up. We have taken visiting friends with family, and will continue to. The decor is kitschy, but works. The ice cream sundae is huge, recommend sharing it.

This place has some of the best seafood in the area but you will pay for it. Bit more costly compared to the street venders and other seafood places in the area(Pier 39) but still the best option in my opinion. If you want great seafood with a great view, this is the place to go on fisherman's Wharf, you can walk down to Pier 39 after as it's close and loose some of the calories you gobbled down while here.

The crab comes out on a sizzling plate. Covered in butter, garlic, and deliciousness! If you have four people you might as well get the crab feast, it's a good amount of crab, but you'll still need an appetizer

Our waiter took order and then disappeared. Didn't ask if we wanted more drinks or if we were enjoying our meal. My fish was too salty, others at my table had the crab and enjoyed it. We also had issues with our check. This restaurant did comp my meal after I commented that the fish was not good.

Excellent atmosphere, not to dressy and down right casual is not looked at oddly. Seafood lovers paradise. I went with a seafood lover.... Who said its some of the best she's had. Outdoor heated seating with breathtaking views of San Francisco Bay. Weight staff and greeters were phenomenal!

Their Seafood menu is extensive. The most popular food item seems to be Dungeness Crab. Other customer favorites are clams, muscles, and shrimp. My wife and I enjoyed our order of fried squid, clam soup, and fish & chips. The portions were large and we flavorful. The restaurant has a Nineteen Sixty's atmosphere with black & white photos of famous people. The restaurant has a great view of San Francisco Bay. We enjoyed our visit.

Their crab chowder is creamy goodness that makes you float. Take a corner seat along the windows. They have binoculars placed along that row, which gives you a beautifully closer view of the boats. Fish and chips, calamari fritters and chocolate cake are all great. Have fun!

Not overbearing. Totally kind and a joyful server! By patronizing this spot , our parking was free, too! Great job, you guys! See you soon!!

I want there for a Welcome Socializing event and until now its my favorite seafood restaurant at Fisherman's Wharf. Excellent food that is reasonably priced. And (of course) you can't beat the view. We watched the sunset on Alcatraz and the small ferries and fishing boats from our booth. Wonderful evening. Amazing Experience!

From Michelle Montoya of Vine Academy: This is the 4th year we have taken our HS students to the Franciscan for Dinner on The Town. Once again, the staff and restaurant were amazing! Accommodating a group of 35 with grace and kindness and patience, they were quick and the food was outstanding! The view can't be beat, even in the evening, and the facility is beautiful. This is a favorite trip for our High School! Thank you!! We will definitely be back!!

Everything was good, except for the main entrée shown on picture was a tad bit salty. We had crab enchiladas, steak, pasta with prawns, clam chowder, calamari, crab chowder, vegetables. Service was quick. View of the Bay & Alcatraz was wonderful. Their Ladies room could use more cleaning attention with the amount of clients frequenting the place.

The Franciscan Crab Restaurant in Fisherman’s Wharf has the best Dungeness Crab and Crab chowder bread bowls in all of San Francisco. The restaurant has an old world Hollywood vibe with friendly service throughout. The menu which you order from is an actual recipe book with photos and recipes of each dish making it super easy to order. A must visit restaurant if you are in the area.

The food was good; however, the service was terrible. It took along time for a waiter to take our order and then it took a long time for our food to come (three adults, all ordered soup and one kids meal). We also ordered coffee which didn't come until after we finished eating. No one checked on us during our meal to see how things were going or if we needed anything. After we finished we asked for the check, waited a long time and then asked again. The waiter's response was "I gave it to you." He hadn't. We told him. He argued with us and then finally went and found the bill (not on our table because he never dropped it off to us). Of note, it was not busy and waiters were standing around chatting while we were there.

Ate at this place because of the reviews that had mentioned views of Alcatraz. Expected some average seafood considering its touristy location. But to my surprise the food was actually pretty tasty. Had the clam chowder bread bowl and chicken alfredo. Definitely would come back here again.

- so me and the gf had a golden gate boat tour. A couple people recommended this place.... we absolutely loved it! Had the alfredo with crab. And the spicy cream tomato fettuccine with chicken. Everything was done so well. Fresh ingredients. Fresh crab. Juicy chicken pieces. Perfectly cooked pasta. What a treat.

In the super touristic Fisherman’s Wharf, this is probably your restaurant to try good and well-priced clam chowder in sourdough bread.Restaurant looks gorgeous, dressed in 70-80s style with so many beautiful details. This is probably the best view you will get on Alcatraz from a restaurant. The clam chowder was tasty and big. For 15$ incl. taxes your belly will be satisfied!

The crab was amazing!! My family decided to try this place on vacation as a treat, we were seated quickly and our food came out quickly!! The seafood was fresh and in such large portions! The service was top notch and on top of everything (even appearing after out crab feast with open wet naps in anticipation). Honestly this was a highlight of our trip and I will be recommending it to everyone I know!

Went here for lunch. An interesting 50s-diner feel mixed with a seafood restaurant. The menus are very nicely prepared with pictures of the food in a very classy way. We were there for shellfish, so we ordered the bruschetta to start (really appreciated the burrata!) and then the double mussels / double crab skillet (the complementary bread/butter was very nice too). That was a solid meal for two. The crab was definitely the highlight (the mussels were just okay). The seasoning on the crab was unique and very tasty. Would recommend / return.

service was great. Most of the food was good. The most important part of the meal, my crab, smelled and tasted like ammonia. A google search has since told me that means the crab was probably bad.

Saul was our server and he was perfect. The food was perfect and for the price it was beyond worth it. We had my in law from Australia here and they made her feel very welcomed here! I ordered the crab fondue and garlic noodles with crab freaking fantastic. I recommend to all my friends and family.

Other than the slightly high price premium due to it being at the center of a touristy destination, everything else is near perfect. Amazing views of the bay, food truthful to the ingredients, slightly on the salty side but again quite perfect. The restaurant also validates two hours of the parking lot right across which is about $24 of value so this does help amortize the cost. Overall, had a lovely time and will return.

Surprisingly I thought this place was great. First it has an incredible waterfront location. The views are unbeatable. The salmon with Korean spices was very tasty and I would order again. Service was fast and efficient if a tad impersonal. Definitely worth a stop when at Fisherman's Wharf.

Classic San Francisco Fisherman's Wharf restaurant. The place hasn't changed in decades. Cool art deco styling and big sweeping windows that have a panoramic view of the bay. As the name suggests they specialize in crab which is prepared in a wide variety of ways. There is also seafood and steak for people who aren't crab eaters. Full bar.
